Kieffer Paper Mills in Indiana manufactured paper packaging products for more than a century without ever cutting down a tree. First they used straw - then they switched to recycled paper in 1907.
In 1999, my late friend and mentor Paul Haker put together a virtual team to promote Kieffer as the original green paper company - some years before green business became the cool thing to do. Of course, we also touted the business benefits of Kieffer packing materials, and they were many.
The campaign as planned spanned for-profit and nonprofit initatives.
